For a better service, Luca only provides the guide service and is not a tour operator or travel agency; he does not organize the trip, but guides the kind guests on a experience that has already been organized in advance and at the discretion of the guest. HERE's WHAT

Tour with expert guide, tasting local delicatesse, more or less known routes, artistic-cultural locations in general, different activities when possible, depending on the location and availability, such as the introduction to sake with sake tasting*, Japanese calligraphy, Japanese tea tasting experience and much more. Useful insights based on reliable sources and personal experience. Interaction, when possible, with the locals, their customs and traditions. The guide plays the role of accompanying and contributing to creating a unique experience. However, to avoid confusion, the guide does not act as an assistant or tour operator.

Tour Leaders
In order to ensure excellent service and clarify any confusion.

• The guide is the leader of the group. The tour leaders work together with the guide in harmony to contribute to each other in a professional service, in a peaceful environment.

 

• In case of collaboration between the guide and tour leaders throughout the tour, the management of radios and earphones, water for the Clients, the communication of important information regarding the logistics of the group outside of the guided tours per se, is the sole responsibility of the tour leaders.

 

• Evening or morning briefings (minimum 30 minutes) together with the rest of the staff (where present) are essential. The tour leaders must be in constant communication with the guide and vice versa.

 

• During bus transfers, the guide and tour leaders will always be seated in the front row. During guided tours and transfers in Shinkansen (Japanese bullet trains) the tour leaders will bring up the rear of the group. Making sure that customers follow the previously agreed upon guide's directives, especially in cases of times where the time foreseen for a visit/transfer is scarce.

 

• Helping each other is a must, as it must be taken for granted that everyone does their job, in any situation to ensure that a service is carried out with responsibility, reliability and serenity for everyone, the utmost professionalism is required.

HOW

Usually the Amico del Solevante tours take place mostly on foot. But depending on the destination or for time and practical reasons, the use of private and or public transportation such as taxis, buses, trains, rental vehicles may be necessary.

WHERE AND WHEN

For all cities like Takayama and Kanazawa and other cities as well, usually the pick up / drop off and meeting point are the JR Stations on each city.

In case of Shirakawago will be the bus terminal. Sometimes might also be the hotel if is located in a strategic location as well.

The tours of the Amico del Solevante are carried out throughout the year, except of course in some cases like: Time schedule, national holidays, force majeure (climatic conditions, closing day, public holidays, national holidays, physical condition etc.). Such as during the winter season, there have been cases in the city of Takayama, of heavy snowfalls that made it inaccessible to use any transportation, especially the public ones. In this case many tourists have had to forcibly extend their stay waiting for the end of heavy snowfalls, waiting also for the cleaning of the roads and railways due to the excess of snow. Cases are rare nowadays, however the guide strongly recommend that the client inquire in advance with the international and Japanese authorities about situations in general, force majeure included.
